Will you be one of the first T-Mobile users to get the update for Android Nougat?
The Un-carrier this weekend released a list of devices that will be the first on its network to receive the update to Android 7.0 Nougat in the coming months.
Among the lucky few will be owners of the HTC 10, HTC One M9 and a slew of Samsung Galaxy devices including the Note5, Note7, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge plus, S7 and S7 edge.
T-Mobile said the launch of new software updates include three stages of life before they reach T-Mobile users: Manufacturer development, T-Mobile testing and completion. As of Monday, all nine of the devices listed for the Nougat upgrade were still in the manufacturer development phase.
The news follows Google’s roll out of Nougat to Nexus devices last week.
Though no LG devices appear on T-Mobile’s list, Google said the new LG V20 will become the first smartphone to ship with Android Nougat when it launches in the third quarter.
The latest upgrade to the Android operating system includes a number of new features, like customizable homescreen widgets, split screen multitasking, expanded emojis and smarter battery usage via the Doze feature. The update will also come with a Data Saver feature for data conscious users that will block background apps from accessing cellular data.
