T-Mobile could soon be bringing its prepaid brands together under one offering called “Simply Prepaid.”
In a description of a T-Mobile booth on the CTIA Super Mobility Week website, Simply Prepaid is described as “a new concept that brings together four amazing brands under one roof.” It says further that Simply Prepaid customers will be able to choose from T-Mobile, GoSmart Mobile, Univision Mobile, or Ultra Mobile for their service.
It’s unclear if MetroPCS, owned by T-Mobile, is involved with Simply Prepaid.
Wireless Week has reached out to T-Mobile on the matter. A spokesman promised more details tomorrow.
The description provides a link to the T-Mobile retailer website, which features a banner reading, “A whole new way to prepay. We’ve reinvented prepaid wireless—again. Attend an upcoming expo to learn all about it.” Following the link leads to details about the Prepaid Press Expo Aug. 18-20 in Las Vegas and CTIA Super Mobility Week Sept. 9-11, also in Las Vegas.
The link information suggests that Simply Prepaid could be a new retail offering.
The possibility of a re-envisioned prepaid brand for T-Mobile follows the carrier’s recent announcement of a new pay-as-you-go plan, which allows users more granular controls over their service.
