T-Mobile on Thursday said it is taking its next Un-carrier move to the masses with live streaming of the event across several Internet media platforms.
Scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Monday, June 6, T-Mobile said its “Un-carrier 11” event will be broadcast live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and T-Mobile.com.
According to invitations for the event, T-Mobile’s fairly cryptic theme for the event is “Turning it up to eleven.” T-Mobile CEO John Legere said on Twitter Thursday the other carriers “are going to hate it,” but didn’t provide any other hints as to what the big reveal will be.
Whatever it is, T-Mobile’s Un-carrier 11 move has big shoes to fill.
Back in November 2015, T-Mobile’s last Un-carrier move introduced Binge On, a video optimization feature that allows T-Mobile customers to stream video from participating providers without using their data allowance.
Since its introduction, Binge On has grown to include more than 80 streaming partners, including dominant Internet video hub YouTube. In January, T-Mobile said Binge On nearly doubled the amount of video customers were watching, and in May said its customers have streamed more than 377 million hours of video since the feature’s launch.
