Before I begin, I must warn you—this hack takes a little patience.
OK, now that that is out of the way, let’s begin. You’ll need a plastic CD case, a glue gun, a pair of wire strippers, a soldering gun, and a coaxial cable. Essentially, you make an antenna out of the clothes hanger, which will look like an angular figure eight. Cut the middle of the plastic CD container down to one-inch long. Hot glue the CD into the plastic CD container. Feed the cable through the middle of the CD’s case and then solder your clothes hanger antenna to coaxial cable. Glue your cable to the CD case so it doesn’t move too much and potentially break, and then place the lid back onto the case. Plug the unused end of the cable into your router and you’re all set.
When you’re done “tinkering,” your design should look like a miniature satellite dish.
