If it were up to texters at the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment tradeshow last week, Sen. Barack Obama would be the next President of the United States.
mBlox staged the virtual vote with the help of technology provider Local Solutions Network (LSN). Attendees were asked to cast their ballots by texting “McCain” or “Obama” to the short code 2VOTE (28683). Obama captured 56.2% of the vote.
According to LSN, any voting application can be customized using the 2VOTE short code just by changing the keywords.
An estimated 200 to 300 people participated in the vote last week, according to an mBlox representative.
