TextNow Adds International Calling to 150 Countries

By Diana Goovaerts | November 17, 2015

TextNow, a cloud-based wireless service provider, said Tuesday it will add international calling to more than 150 countries across the globe and will also offer consumers a way to earn credits that can be applied toward their monthly bill.

The company’s new international calling feature will include low rates to destinations such as Mexico, China and India and will be rolled out over the next several months. Before calls are placed, users will be able to preview the calling rate by entering the number into the phone’s dialer. Beta signups for the service are currently being accepted.

TextNow said it will also expand its unlimited United States and Canada call and text feature to the company’s free app users.

“At TextNow, we’re committed to making wireless services affordable for everyone and empowering people to stay connected with their friends and family, no matter where they might be,” said TextNow CEo and co-founder Derek Ting. “International calling has long been a requested feature from our users and we’re excited to be able to roll it out and offer yet more significant savings over costly plans from traditional wireless companies.”

TextNow also said its customers will now be able to earn credits toward international calls or their monthly bill by watching video ads or completing offers through the TextNow App.
