Step 1 of 7 14% Welcome to the final 5G Technology World quiz for 2020! So, you think you know 5G? The quizzes, sponsored by Keysight Technologies. The quiz is interactive; it will tell you which questions you answered correctly or incorrectly. Each month, we'll select five people who correctly answered all the answers and give them a "shout out" on the leader board. To get a shout out, you'll need to enter your email address, a username, and select your country. The leader board is open to U.S residents only. Did you not correctly answer all questions? That's OK. 5G is new to many of us. You can always read the source material from the provided link. Good luck. We look forward to seeing you on the leader board. Multiple-input / multiple-output (MIMO) was an important technology in 4G. In 5G, MIMO becomes essential and is implemented on a much grander scale. Massive MIMO — which can involve dozens or even hundreds on antennas — along with related technologies beamforming and beam steering are essential for delivering the 100x data rates and the 1,000x capacity goals specified by the International Mobile Telecommunications-2020 (IMT-2020) vision. This quiz comes from Part 3 in Keysight Technologies' First Steps in 5G: Overcoming 5G NR Device Design Challenges Series, which focuses on MIMO and Beamforming. Before you begin the quiz please tell us a little about yourself and give us a name you would like to use on our leader board. (Note that this is optional but you won't be listed on leader board without it)Email We will notify you when the next quiz is released.User Name/Alias Name as you would like it to appear on leader board. Note that this will be seen by the general public so you're free to make one up. Please keep it nice... we will edit inappropriate content.CountrySelect countryUnited StatesCanadaCanadaAfghanistanÅland IslandsAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongo, Democratic Republic of theCongo, Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCôte d'IvoireCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzech RepublicDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatini (Swaziland)EthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacauMacedoniaMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth KoreaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRéunionRomaniaRussiaRwandaSaint BarthélemySaint HelenaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth GeorgiaSouth KoreaSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan Mayen IslandsSwedenSwitzerlandSyriaTaiwanTajikistanTanzaniaThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkeyTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUruguayUS Minor Outlying IslandsUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaVietnamVirgin Islands, BritishVirgin Islands, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabwe Spatial multiplexing is:* Sending multiple copies of the same signal via multiple antennas A multiple-antenna technique that feeds independent data into each antenna The awareness of signals to the proximity of other signals The order of signals as they appear What does beam steering use to manipulate the beam in real time?* Channel feedback Channel coding Waveguides Horn antennas What is multi-user MIMO?* A technique that uses multiple user equipment (UE) devices to send the same signal to the eNB to ensure successful delivery When multiple users access a pay-wall app using the same login and password A technique that employs both 5G frequency bands to send or receive a transmission A technique that uses multiple beams directed at different devices to achieve greater spectral efficiency Validating that a 5G device produces the correct beam width, null depth, and gain over the required range requires: Expertise in 3GPP standards Cabled testing Over-the-air (OTA) testing An advanced laboratory testing system One of the most efficient tools for testing end-to-end beam throughput is: Advanced simulation software A network emulator A scientific calculator An over-the-air signal generator Δ Sponsored by: Click here to view the rules and if you haven’t seen the leader board yet click here!
