Regional carrier U.S. Cellular is asking customers to “believe” in the possibility of a better wireless experience. A countdown set to expire on Oct. 1, which has been posted on a Web landing page, promises the wireless industry will get “a long overdue wake-up call” on that date.
Additionally, the page declares that the countdown is counting down the minutes “until a wireless company will treat you the way you deserve.”
While details are scant, polls and a discussion forum posted in conjunction with the countdown seem to point to possible no-contract plans that offer customers a better range of options.
One poll asks, “What would be the slogan for your ideal wireless company?” Multiple choice answers include: Contracts? We don’t need no stinkin’ contracts; Overage fees, schmoverage fees; Now available in plaid; You deserve better.”
The website offers visitors multiple forums to speak their mind and tell the company what they’re looking for in a wireless carrier.
