Both AT&T and U.S. Cellular are getting ready to snag customers with fresh deals for the holidays. Both carriers announced Black Friday deals.
On the busiest shopping day of the year, now just one week away, consumers can take advantage of practically unheard of price points – on the hottest wireless devices – right from the comfort of their own home.
AT&T will be running sales on various handsets from Nov. 26-29. According to a press release, AT&T will offer RIM’s touchscreen BlackBerry Torch for a penny, in a 24-hour sale that begins Friday. Saturday puts select refurbished devices at a penny, and on Sunday quick messaging devices will be given away with a two-year contract.
But it’s Monday when the high-end smartphones will get reduced. AT&T will offer up the HTC Aria, BlackBerry Curve 3G, Motorola Flipout, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the Motorola Bravo for just a penny with a two-year contract.
“We want our customers to know how much we appreciate them, especially this time of year when they’re looking for even more value and more savings,” said Phil Bienert, vice president of ATT.com, in the press release.
It’s more of the same over at U.S. Cellular for its Black Friday promotions. U.S. Cellular will get a jump on the holiday, beginning a week-long Android sale that kicks off this Monday, Nov. 22 – four days before Black Friday.
U.S. Cellular is offering deals on its entire lineup of Android-powered phones, including the Samsung Mesmerize (a Galaxy S phone) for just $99 and the HTC Desire for $49 after an $80 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract. The LG Apex and Samsung Acclaim will be free after an $80 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract.
Current U.S. Cellular customers who switched to one of the company’s new Belief Plans and are eligible for a phone upgrade can get those sale prices without signing a new contract. New customers who sign up for a Belief Plan will get those sale prices and never sign another contract with “no contract after the first one.”
