Following in the footsteps of competitor T-Mobile, Verizon on Thursday announced it has added more data to its prepaid plans.
With the additions, customers can now get 2 GB of data for $45 per month or 5 GB of data for $60 per month. Those who enroll in AutoPay will get an additional 1 GB of data, for a total of 3 GB of data for $45 or 6 GB of data for $60.
Verizon’s $30 per month plan with Wi-Fi-only data remains the same.
All prepaid smart plans still come with unlimited talk and text within the U.S. as well as texting to Canada and Mexico, the carrier said.
Verizon’s changes almost mirror those recently made by T-Mobile, which upgraded its prepaid offerings to include 3 GB of data for $40 per month, 5 GB of data for $50 per month or 10 GB of data for $60 per month, all with unlimited talk and text.
