Verizon Announces Two New Apps

By Staff Author | June 3, 2008

Verizon Wireless has announced two new applications for customers: RemoSync, a corporate e-mail application, and Miles To Go, a mileage tracking application from RiffWare.

With RemoSync, customers with Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail accounts can access their corporate e-mail, calendar and contacts from their handsets for $10 a month. Developed by Remoba, RemoSync allows customers to manage their business e-mail without purchasing a smartphone or PDA. Customers also don’t have to have a data plan to use the application; users will be charged for airtime or $1.99 per megabyte when downloading or using RemoSync.

RiffWare’s Miles To Go application offers users the ability to improve the performance of their cars by tracking mileage, scheduling oil changes and maintenance, providing vehicle recall and alert updates and estimating annual mileage to avoid large overage fees on leases. The application records fuel fill-up history, oil change history and trip history, providing information in easy-to-read graphs and charts; reports can also be downloaded into a spreadsheet or other program from a Web interface. In addition, Miles To Go compares a user’s fuel and oil consumption to other drivers with the same vehicle.

Both new applications are available on select handsets.
