Verizon and AT&T opened have opened online preorders for the new LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, and will offer the device in stores in the coming days.
The latest Watch Urbane is compatible with both Android and iOS devices and allows users to answer calls and check messages even when they’re not carrying their phone.
“Staying connected is of the utmost importance to consumers today,” said LG senior vice president and head of North American sales and marketing Morris Lee. “With the introduction of the second edition Watch Urbane LTE, consumers have options when it comes to their devices and we are excited to bring the latest to the wearables category.”
The new LTE-enabled smartwatch features a classic design with a stainless steel body and a circular 348 ppi display. Three buttons on the side of the device provide access to shortcuts and apps. The watch’s “on-the-go” capabilities have also been boosted with a 570mAH battery supported by a Power Saving Mode. The device is powered by a a Snapdragon 400 processor and has 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and GPS and heart rate sensors.
AT&T announced it will carry the device for $0 down and $15 per month for 20 months with an installment plan or $199.99 with a two-year agreement. The watch can be added to a new or existing Mobile Share Value Plan for an additional $10 per month access charge, the company said. Verizon is offering the device for the full price of $499 or $449 on a two-year contract.
The watch will be offered in AT&T stores starting tomorrow and in Verizon stores on Nov. 19.
Following today’s United State and Korea launch, the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE is expected to be made available in key markets in Europe, Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States in the months ahead.
