In the wake of today’s official unveiling of the new BlackBerry 10 platform and the first two devices to operate it, the full touch screen Z10 and the QWERTY keyboard and touch screen Q10, U.S. carriers are beginning to announce their plans for the new gadgets.
Verizon Wireless today issued a press release revealing both the Z10 and the Q10 will be available on its LTE network. It announced the Z10, in black or white, will be priced at $199 with a two-year contract and that Verizon will be the exclusive home of the white model.
AT&T today announced plans to carry both models as well, putting off sharing any release date or pricing details until later.
Both Sprint and T-Mobile have initially opted to carry only one of BlackBerry’s new devices. Sprint plans to offer the Q10 with “Truly Unlimited” LTE. T-Mobile announced its plans to carry the Z10 as well as its upcoming offering of BlackBerry’s Enterprise Service 10.
At today’s event, BlackBerry announced the phones will be available as early as next week in Canada and the UK.
