Verizon Wireless and Samsung today announced the Samsung Stratosphere, a Galaxy S Android smartphone aimed at business users. The Stratosphere will be available beginning Oct. 13.
The Samsung Stratosphere is the first 4G LTE smartphone from Verizon that comes equipped with a five-row qwerty keyboard. The Stratosphere runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and features a four-inch Super AMOLED display, 1 GHz processor, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3-megapixel rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and hotspot functionality for up to eight devices.
Additionally, the Stratosphere supports enhanced B2B-enabled connectivity services from Cisco, the most comprehensive mobile implementation of Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) and support for secure remote device management from Sybase .
The Stratosphere will retail in stores and online for $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
