To celebrate the pending release of the latest Star Wars film, Verizon on Wednesday released a special edition Google Cardboard viewer.
Available at select Verizon stores, the custom virtual reality viewers are designed after the likeness of fan-favorite characters BB-8, R2-D2, Kylo Ren and stormtroopers.
According to Verizon, the viewers are available to fans free of charge to Verizon customers while supplies last.
Verizon said the special release is part of its #WhyNotWednesday campaign. The carrier is also an official partner of the film.
The carrier said the cardboard viewers can be used to amplify the experience of watching “Awaken the Force Within,” a video content series available through the official Star Wars app. The series consists of nine virtual reality missions that build toward a reveal connected to the upcoming movie.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will open in theaters December 18.
