In more Motorola news, India’s Videocon Group has hired UBS AG as its adviser on behalf of its interest in Motorola’s mobile phone unit.
The consumer electronics maker announced last week that it was interested in acquiring the U.S.-based handset maker’s struggling mobile phone unit, should the company be looking to sell it.
Last month, Motorola announced plans to split the company in two some time next year, as part of its plan to return its handset division to profitability.
Motorola’s handset unit is estimated to be worth at least $3.8 billion.
