Vishay Introduces Precision Thin Film Chip Resistor Laboratory Sample Kits

By WDD Staff | October 1, 2013

Vishay Intertechnology (Malvern, PA) has announced the offer of laboratory sample kits of certain precision thin film chip resistors. The MCS 0402 (LCS 96/4) and MCT 0603 (LCT 96/4) kits aid engineers in prototyping and speed time to market in a wide range of electronic systems.

The two new Vishay Beyschlag sample kits offer roughly 100 of the most popular resistance values in the MCS 0402 and MCT 0603 packages, respectively. The kits feature:

  • 0.1 % tolerance.
  • Temperature coefficient of ± 25 ppm/K.
  • The MCS 0402 (LCS 96/4) kit offers 40 resistors for every fourth value of the E-96 series with a resistance range from 47 to 221 k Ω.
  • The MCT 0603 (LCT 96/4) offers 20 resistors for every fourth value of the E-96 series with a resistance range of 47 to 511 k Ω.

The resistors are enclosed in cardboard tape on clearly labeled six-ring A5 binder pages, sorted in ascending order of resistance value. The MCS 0402 (LCS 96/4) and MCT 0603 (LCT 96/4) supply a total of 3,600 and 1,960 resistors respectively, giving engineers the freedom to experiment until they’ve found the perfect fit for their designs.

Built on advanced thin film technology, Vishay’s precision chip resistors deliver accurate and stable performance for precision amplifiers in industrial electronics, sensors and scales, telecommunication base stations, and medical equipment. Typical applications include engine control units, gearbox controls, safety and power supply systems, battery management, measurement control, and steering technology.

The devices included in the sample kits are RoHS-compliant, approved according to EN 140401-801, and offer lead (Pb)-free solder terminations.
