Walmart and Straight Talk Wireless, a Tracfone brand, which is a subsidiary of America Movil, today announced that it will offer the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 starting on January 11, 2013.
Straight Talk will offer Apple’s iconic devices in more than 2,000 Walmart stores in conjunction with no-contract plans that start at $45 per month and include unlimited talk, text and data plan and online at Walmart.com.
Walmart said it will offer customers who purchase the phone in the store a no interest fixed-monthly financing offer for only $25 a month with a Walmart Credit Card. GE Capital Retail Bank is the issuer of the Walmart Credit Cards.
Straight Talk’s iPhone 5 will be available in black and white for $649 for the 16GB model only, and the iPhone 4 be available in black and white for $449 for the 8GB model only.
Straight Talk currently offers a $45 prepaid plan that features unlimited talk, text and data. For $60, users can purchase a prepaid with unlimited domestic talk, text, and data, as well as unlimited international calling to more than 1,000 destinations in Mexico, Canada, India, and in other countries.
Straight Talk is the latest of the prepaid carriers to offer the iPhone. Cricket Communications and Virgin Mobile have also announced availability of Apple’s flagship phone.
