Walmart is hoping to drum up some iPhone sales with a major discount to Apple’s flagship smartphone.
The big box retailer is offering the iPhone 6 for $129 with a 2-year contract from AT&T, Verizon or Sprint. That’s a $50 discount off the Walmart’s regular price for the phone.
Walmart will also offer the iPhone 6 Plus for $229. That’s $50 off the company’s regular price for that device of $279.
The new promotions are part of a larger trend by retailers to keep people shopping beyond Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
In a statement, Scott McCall, senior vice president of toys and seasonal merchandising for Walmart in the United States, said that gift buying “no longer happens on just one day or in just one way.”
“We’re seeing more customers shopping across the season while visiting both our store and online aisles,” McCall said.
Walmart is also offering discounts on other iPhone models, as well as Samsung’s Galaxy 5S, which is going gor $79.
