Zain Jordan recently announced that it has selected the Ericsson Charging & Billing in One (CBIO) solution as part of the operator’s ongoing efforts to provide subscribers with additional billing flexibility.
This marks a success story with Zain in Jordan to implement Ericsson’s single rating convergence and swapping out five different rating engines.
With Ericsson’s CBIO solution, both prepaid and postpaid Zain subscribers will be able to benefit from the advantages of convergent charging and billing. Subscribers will experience enhanced billing flexibility, which will allow them to try new services without facing unexpected costs at the end of the month.
Ahmad Al Hanandeh, CEO, Zain Jordan, says, “This latest step in our partnership with Ericsson will allow us to provide unparalleled billing flexibility to our subscribers and pave the way for the introduction of more advanced technologies in the future. Zain revolutionized telecommunications in Jordan by introducing GSM mobile services to the country in 1994. To this day we continue to adopt cutting-edge technology to provide state of the art services to our subscribers.”
Ericsson’s charging and billing solutions allow operators to handle all customers, partners and services in a streamlined, convergent process and support prepaid and postpaid, voice and data, fixed and mobile, retail and wholesale customers in a single system. Ericsson’s solutions also support new machine-to-machine offerings and advanced subscriber and partner management capabilities, which create vast opportunities for operators to be innovative in their service offerings.
“We envision a world where everything that can be connected will be connected,” says Tarek Saadi, President, Ericsson North Middle East. “This opens new opportunities for communication, innovation, and productivity. The basis for this transformation is a truly convergent charging and billing solution – one that keeps the complexity away from subscribers and provides them with a seamless experience. Zain has anticipated the need for a converged system to work hand in hand with their long-term strategy and with the system’s support; they will be able to continuously introduce more advanced technology to meet subscriber demand.”
Ericsson’s partnership with Zain Jordan started in 2012 when the operator announced that it would be renovating its network with Ericsson’s network core switch technology and Charging System solutions. This in turn paved the way for the quick and cost-effective future introduction of new services such as beyond 4G/LTE.
