Texas Instruments introduced the first product from its new Z-Accel family of 2.4 GHz ZigBee network processors for the growing machine-to-machine industry, officials said.
The model CC2480 works with any external microcontroller and includes 10 application programming interfaces. It measures 7 mm on each side and is available now starting at $8.10 in 1,000-unit shipments.
A demonstration system with USB support and a microcontroller is available for $99.
