Google’s has announced a new Android Wear watch update that will enable speaker support, new navigation gestures and voice messaging.
According to Google, the update’s speaker support will allow watch users to make and receive calls over Bluetooth and listen to audio and video messages through apps like Glide. The update will work on devices with speakers, like the Huawei Watch and the ASUS ZenWatch 2 (49mm), Google said.
The update will also enable users to navigate their device with new push, lift and shake gestures. Watch users with the update will also be able to use their voice to send messages from apps like Google Hangouts, Viber and WhatsApp, the company said.
According to Ars Technica, the update will also support the LTE modem that was built into the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE. The watch, which launched in November, was the first watch introduced with cellular modem but was pulled from shelves just six days after its launch due to a “quality issue.”
Google said the updates will be rolling out to all Android Wear watches over the next few weeks.
