Beckhoff Automation LLC Wins NAIOP Minnesota Award of Excellence for New Headquarters Office

By Staff Author | October 28, 2013

Real estate organization awards Savage, Minn. facility as best industrial project under 100,000 square feet

SAVAGE, Minnesota, October 23, 2013 – Beckhoff Automation has received a NAIOP Award of Excellence for commercial real estate in Minnesota that recognizes the company’s newly built headquarters facility in Savage, Minn. NAIOP is the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, representing commercial real estate developers, owners and investors of office, industrial, retail and mixed-use properties.

The winning business complex, designed by Pope Architects of St. Paul, Minn. and built by Anderson Companies in St. Louis Park, Minn., features over 44,500 square feet in combined office and warehouse space, modern design and extensive Beckhoff building automation technology throughout the facility. Beckhoff’s North American sales, marketing, administration, warehousing, technical services, support, repair and training departments are all managed from this office.

Under the category of “best industrial project under 100,000 square feet,” Beckhoff Automation was presented its Award of Excellence at the 30th annual NAIOP award ceremony held in September 2013 at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. “By winning a NAIOP Minnesota Award of Excellence for our new North American headquarters in Savage, Beckhoff has been recognized by the commercial real estate community for something we already knew for months. Pope Architects and Anderson Companies helped us create a world-class facility for Beckhoff to usher in the next stage of our success in North America,” said Graham Harris, President, Beckhoff Automation LLC. “Considering the intelligent office layouts, aesthetically elegant appearance inside and out, as well as Beckhoff’s own building automation technology installed by our experts, we clearly struck a winning combination of elements that lead to this award, which is indeed an honor and a validation.”

In addition to sporting award-winning architectural design and build quality, Beckhoff Automation LLC now has more than triple the available space of its previous headquarters facility in three key areas: the general office space, warehouse and repair center. The new Beckhoff warehouse measures 15,000+ square feet while the state-of-the-art the Industrial PC repair center with exceptional ESD protection is 1,660+ square feet. Daylight harvesting to set light levels is a major part of the system and the external environment is leveraged for heating/cooling whenever possible.
