Alcatel OneTouch today unveiled a new high-end smartphone, the Idol X+, which features an octa-core 2GHz processor.
The IDOL X+ features a 5-inch display and 13.1-megapixel 1080p camera. The company says the new processor increase battery efficiency by 18 percent over a quad core chip when decoding Full HD video. It also includes performance tweaks like allocating each web page tab to a different CPU to maintain smooth but fast browsing.
Despite the power hidden under the hood, the exterior of the IDOL X+ keeps to the slim, sleek styling of the IDOL series. IDOL X+ takes styling and choice to the next level with its unique IML spin effect and the brushed metallic frame.
The news comes as the company today also announced that it will the Idol X and Idol Mini smartphones to Canada.
The Idol X is nearly the same phone as the Idol X+, but with a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor.
