Alcatel-Lucent said today that it will license product software to the Taiwan-based manufacturer of broadband and wireless products, Askey Computer Corporation. Under the licensing agreement, Askey will integrate Alcatel-Lucent’s software for residential small cells into a range of new broadband and wireless products that will be made available to consumers through mobile operators. Alcatel-Lucent says consumers using the new products will see higher data speeds and better service inside their homes.
Ceragon Networks today annoucned the launch of a new generation of packet radio solutions, FibeAir IP-20C. Ceragon says the new solution is the only microwave radio to offer a virtual fiber solution in licensed bands. FibeAir IP-20C features multi-core technology that employs a parallel radio processing engine to double the link performance. This allows FibeAir IP-20C to deliver multi-Gbps capacity on a single frequency channel. By employing line-of-sight (LoS) 4X4 MIMO, Ceragon claims operators can reach capacities that quadruple those of existing solutions, at half the form-factor. Currently in trials at selected customers, the FibeAir IP-20C is scheduled to be released for general availability in the first quarter of 2013.
Retarus announced today that it will now offer SMS messaging services for North America. The SMS services are offered as part of Retarus’ diverse suite of cloud-based products that help improve efficiency for enterprise-level customers with their mission critical messages.
