Amazon today announced that it is bringing “Voice Guide” and “Explore by Touch”—two new accessibility features previously available on Kindle Fire HD 8.9”—to its new standard definition Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD 7”. The features aim to help vision-impaired customers to more easily navigate the menus and content on the device. These features have been available with Kindle Fire HD 8.9” since its release and will be made available on the standard definition Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD 7” early next year.
AVX Corporation, a manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has introduced a new series of miniature chip capacitors for the RF and microwave communications market. Featuring copper electrodes in place of standard precious metal electrodes, the new CU Series chip capacitors provide low ESR, high Q, and tight tolerances. Available in 01005 and 0201 case sizes, the new copper electrode chip capacitors are for applications including power amplifiers, handheld devices, GPS, vehicle location systems, and matching networks for wireless LANs.
Agero Connected Services has been selected by Acura to provide the core services to Acura’s new cloud-based connected car system AcuraLink. Agero’s system, which provides mobile apps and embedded architecture, debuts in spring 2013 on the 2014 Acura RLX luxury sedan.
