ZTE Corporation has announced the launch of the what it’s billing as the world’s smallest 4G LTE datacard. With driver-free capabilities, the ZTE MF823 uses Qualcomm’s second-generation LTE chip platform and is 13mm thick, nearly a third of the size of the first-generation LTE datacard.

The Wall Street Journal reports that an Apple device resembling the iPhone 5 has received approval for a “network access” license in China. According to the report, which cites information from a Chinese regulatory website, the phone is compatible with the network standard supported by China Telecom.

Cisco today announced its intent to acquire privately held Cariden Technologies, Inc., a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based supplier of network planning, design and traffic management solutions for telecommunications service providers. Cisco says the acquisition of Cariden will allow providers to enhance the visibility, programmability and efficiency of their converged networks, while improving service velocity.

After spending six months in beta, Zapstreak, the Polish startup with a mobile SDK for media app developers, today announces its global launch. When embedded within a media app Zapstreak’s technology creates an experience similar to Apple’s AirPlay, where users can beam music, videos or images to a connected TV, without the need for any additional hardware.

RIM today released an upgrade to BlackBerry Mobile Fusion 6, the company’s enterprise mobility management solution.  BlackBerry Mobile Fusion 6 Service Pack 2 is free for existing customers and will prepare them for the upgrade to BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 early next year.
