FirstNews Briefs: Broadcom, Hilti, AT&T, Motorola Solutions, Netgear

Broadcom Corporation today announced the expansion of its XLP®II multi-core communications processors family with the XLP500 Series. Featuring 32 NXCPUs and 80 Gbps performance, the XLP500 Series delivers up to 4X the per-core performance of competing processors.

Hilti, a global provider of technology to the construction industry, has signed an agreement with AT&T for an IP-based virtual private network (VPN). The service will help Hilti’s retail store employees around the world ring up customer purchases faster. The AT&T VPN will connect employees and systems across more than 200 Hilti sites across Europe, Asia, the United States and Latin America.

Motorola Solutions Inc. announced the new VX 9000, a scalable WLAN cloud solution providing the functionality of Motorola’s NX hardware controller. The VX 9000 software-based virtualized controller supports up to 25,000 access points in a single instance and can scale to support multiple instances.

NETGEAR, Inc. has introduced the NETGEAR DOCSIS 3.0 AC1900 Voice and Data Cable Gateway (C7000B). The C7000B offers cable broadband service providers a fast gateway with WiFi speeds up to 1900 (600+1300) Mbps and DOCSIS speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second.
