• Wind River said it has developed code for the open-source Google Android operating system that runs on larger devices using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets. The software will be contributed to the Open Handset Alliance in the near future, officials said.
• Openwave Systems appointed David Nagel to its board of directors. Nagel was previously the CEO and a director of PalmSource. OpenWave said it now has seven directors.
• Paramount Wireless, a Los Angeles-based wireless accessory company, has re-branded itself as Paramount Products Group (PPG). The company says its new ihx-mobile division offers a comprehensive line of power products, USB charging solutions, carry cases, protective shields, skins and holsters.
