FirstNews Briefs: Syniverse, Peregrine, LitePoint, ZTE, Marvell

Syniverse today announced a leadership transition under which Jeffrey S. Gordon has stepped down from his role as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director, effective immediately. In connection with this change in leadership, Stephen C. Gray, a member of the Syniverse Board of Directors since January 2011, will become interim President and Chief Executive Officer.

Peregrine Semiconductor Corp. introduces the UltraCMOS PE42424 high-isolation, SPDT switch optimized for 802.11ac carrier and enterprise Wi-Fi access points. Successor to last year’s PE42423, the upgraded switch is 75 percent smaller and features a 60-percent increase in power handling and a 350-percent faster switching speed.

LitePoint, a provider of wireless test solutions, today announced that ZTE Corporation has adopted LitePoint’s cellular and connectivity test solutions for calibrating and verifying their latest 4G smartphones in production.

Marvell today announced that ZTE has launched a 5-mode 4G LTE mass market smartphone for the world’s largest mobile operator, China Mobile powered by Marvell’s ARMADA Mobile PXA1920 platform. The ZTE Q805T is priced around 1,000 RMB and supports the following modes of cellular communication: Time Division Long-Term Evolution (TD-LTE), Frequency Division Duplexing Long Term Evolution (FDD-LTE), Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA), Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) and Global Systems for Mobile (GSM). The Marvell-powered ZTE Q805T is currently available for China Mobile subscribers.
