The summer of handsets is quickly merging into the autumn of handsets. Verizon Wireless today introduced the HTC Touch Pro2, the global-capable smartphone that went on sale at Sprint earlier this week.
The HTC Touch Pro2 features an extra-large 3.6-inch touch screen that tilts, an ergonomic slide-out qwerty keyboard and an advanced speakerphone with asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression.
The HTC Touch Pro2, which uses Windows Mobile 6.1, will be available for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a new two-year customer agreement on a voice plan with an e-mail feature or e-mail plan.
Beginning Friday, customers can order the HTC Touch Pro2 online, in business sales channels and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores.
Last week, Sprint announced the upcoming arrival of the HTC Hero, that carrier’s first Android-based device. It goes on sale Oct. 11 for $179.99 after rebates.
