LG will apparently next week unveil a new circular smartwatch at IFA in Berlin.
In a new teaser video, the company clearly displays a round watch and says it’s “coming soon” to IFA 2014.
Engadget first spotted the teaser over the weekend, citing a source saying it will be called the LG G Watch R and that its announcement will follow shortly after Motorola unveils its own circular smartwatch, the Moto 360.
LG’s hint of a new smartwatch comes only months after the company released the G Watch, a squared-faced wearable that was one of the first devices to show up with Google’s new Android Wear operating system.
As the battle heats up for Android Wear devices, Apple is rumored to be prepping its own smartwatch which could be announced alongside its upcoming iPhones.
The wearable push from manufacturers is driving expectations for the market and has already caused large upticks in demand for smart band wearables. Canalysis estimates the global wearable band market grew 684 percent in the first half of 2014.
