Lime Microsystems Signs Vitec Electronics as Japan Distribution Partner

08 November 2013, Tokyo, Japan and Guildford, UK: The field programmable RF chip developer Lime Microsystems, today announced it has signed Vitec Electronics as its strategic distribution partner for Japan.

Lime is the world’s leading supplier of field programmable RF transceivers. Its software configurable chips run on any 2G, 3G or 4G mobile standard and on any frequency between 0.3 and 3.8GHz.

The deal, which is effective immediately, gives Lime’s customers in Japan a greater level of support and access to Lime’s complete portfolio, including the LMS6002D FPRF transceiver and the Universal Wireless Communications Toolkit with FPGA and USB connectivity.

The flexibility of the Lime FPRF transceiver has led to it being adopted in a diverse array of platforms from mobile networks and 4G small cells through software defined radio devices to indoor GPS navigation and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications.

Ebrahim Bushehri, CEO of Lime said: “Japan has a wealth of design expertise and the country is a key market for Lime. Vitec has an impressive track record and will help us deliver on a key part of our strategy to support diverse ecosystem of wireless innovation.”

Mr. Konno Kunihiro, Founder and CEO of Vitec, said: “This collaboration gives our customers greater flexibility when designing breakthrough wireless systems. We believe that our support will satisfy all Japanese customer needs, and accelerate the design process across a diverse array of new products.”

The deal was brokered by Lime’s distributor for the greater China region, Azio Electronics. Its CEO, Andy Chang, said: “We believe this collaboration will enhance the support for Japanese customers and allow more Japanese customers to benefit from this emerging new ultra-flexible wireless technology.”
