One week after the launch of the Apple iPhone 3G, Melodis is sharing some results of its music-ID service, available through the Apple Apps store.
The service, dubbed midomi, received more than 3 million unique search results, the company said. Fifty-two percent of searches were voice-driven, where the user says the name of a song or artist or sings or hums a song to get information.
Thirty-three percent of user searches were text driven, whereby users type the name of a song or artist.
And, as expected, 15% of user searches were grab-oriented, whereby the user holds the iPhone up to a radio to find out what song is playing.
