Telefónica Digital on Wednesday announced an offering that will provide access to Telefónica’s M2M capabilities and services. Based on its M2M solutions, the new offering will create an open ecosystem, which will enable town councils, urban service providers and entrepreneurs to integrate all the technology required by this type of service in a single solution. As part of the services for Smart Cities, Telefónica Digital also announces two cooperation agreements with the companies Streetline, specialist in Smart Parking end-to-end solutions, and Libelium, developer of M2M Smart Cities sensors.
Straight Talk Wireless has presented a check to Make-A-Wish for $1.1 million to conclude the successful “One Minute. One Million.” campaign. Over the course of four weekends in September and October, more than one million consumers turned out at 3,000 Walmarts across the U.S. and participated in demonstrations of Straight Talk Wireless Android smartphones. For every consumer who took part in a demonstration, Straight Talk Wireless contributed $1 to Make-A-Wish.
Crittercism, provider of a Mobile App Performance Management (APM) platform, today announced its partnership with StackMob, a mobile app development platform. The companies are teaming up to deliver crash reporting and mobile app performance diagnostic services to 15,000 StackMob developers. Verizon Wireless and Comcast today announced they will sell each other’s services in additional markets across Florida, including Southwest Florida (Estero, Fort Myers, Port Charlotte, and Naples); Central Florida (Altamonte Springs, Clermont, Inverness, Kissimmee Orlando, and Sebring); and Treasure Coast (Port St. Lucie and Stuart). Qualified customers of both Comcast and Verizon Wireless could be eligible for a variety of offers and incentives, including Visa prepaid cards valued up to $300, a Comcast HD DVR at no additional cost for six months, and/or a complimentary 12-month upgrade to Blast!, the Xfinity Internet service that provides download speeds of up to 30 Mbps with PowerBoost.
Voxbone has announced that it is providing international direct inward dial (DID) numbers to Aculab for Aculab Cloud, a true cloud-based platform that the company says will make it easier for developers to create on-demand automated telephony applications that make, receive and interact with calls. Aculab selected Voxbone because the company’s VoxDID service enables Aculab to easily enhance its services with instant provisioning through Voxbone’s API. Voxbone maintains a supply of geographic and national phone numbers for incoming communications from more than 50 countries and 4,000 cities.
