Samsung announced its Gear S will be coming to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon “this fall.”
The company previously revealed that its newest smartwatch would start selling across global markets in phases beginning in October.
Carriers have yet to share details about pricing and plans for the Gear S.
The Gear S stands apart from Samsung’s current stable of smartwatches in that it features a 3G radio. The Gear S will get its own SIM so it can completely stand in for a smartphone and handle voice calls, messaging and notifications. The device will feature an on-screen keyboard and expanded S Voice functionality.
The Gear S will switch between 3G and Bluetooth to allow for syncing with a smartphone. The watch comes with Samsung’s S Health suite, GPS, and fitness-tracking sensors.
