Samsung has confirmed it will introduce its smartwatch, dubbed “Galaxy Gear,” at a Sept. 4 event in Berlin.
Speaking with The Korea Times, Lee Young-hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, said the device will not have a flexible display as some rumors have suggested.
However, Lee suggested that more advanced wearable devices, perhaps incorporating flexible displays, were in the works at Samsung.
Lee was short on details about the smartwatch but he did confirm it will be called Galaxy Gear.
Lee also confirmed that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 3 during the IFA consumer electronics show Sept. 6-11.
