Sprint Extends Leasing Program to iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3

By Ben Munson | November 13, 2014

Sprint today announced it is opening up its device leasing program to the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Both models are LTE-compatible and the iPad Air 2 works on the Sprint Spark network.

Under the new “iPad for Life” plans, the 24-month lease payments shake out like this: iPad Air 2 runs $20 for 16GB, $24 for 64GB, and $28 for 128GB; the iPad mini 3 runs $17 for 16GB, $21 for 64GB, and $25 for 128GB. All models are zero down.

Either model can be added to a Family Share Pack for $10 a month but Sprint is waiving the access charges through December 2015 for customers who add an iPad to 20GB or higher shared plans.

Sprint also offers monthly tablet data plans that run $10 for 100MB, $15 for 1GB, $35 for 3GB, $50 for 6GB, $80 for 12GB, and $110 for 30GB.

Apple’s tablet lineup joins the new iPhones and the Samsung Galaxy S5 as the devices available with Sprint’s leasing program. The carrier gives customers after their leases are up the option to turn in their device and lease another, continue monthly lease payments, buy the device, or turn in the device and walk away.
