U.S. wireless carrier T-Mobile on Wednesday unveiled a new buy-one-get-one promotion that offers customers half-off the cost of premium smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the new iPhone 6s in a bid to encourage device upgrades.
To take advantage of the offer, customers must buy another device from the same manufacturer of equal or greater value. Eligible devices include the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note5; LG’s G4 and V10; and Apple’s iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s and 6s Plus.
According to T-Mobile, no trade in is required, and the savings will be registered on the customer’s monthly installment bill. Families and businesses can get up to six smartphones at half price, the Un-carrier said.
The move comes alongside T-Mobile’s Wednesday update to its Simply Prepaid smartphone plans. The plans, which first rolled out at the start of last year, were overhauled to include more data at each of the three payment levels.
