T-Mobile USA Adds Prepaid Data Plans

By Staff Author | October 14, 2010

T-Mobile USA will “evolve” its prepaid offerings at the beginning of next week with the launch of new data plans for its no-contract customers and a mobile broadband dongle.

The plans include a $70 per month unlimited plan with 2 GB of data, a $50 unlimited talk and text plan with 100 MB of data and a $30 per month plan with 1,500 voice minutes or text messages with 30 MB of data.

T-Mobile is also offering a $1.49 day pass, a $10 weekly pass for 100 MB of data, a $30 month pass for 300 MB and a $50 month pass for 1 GB of data.

The carrier’s new mobile broadband dongle, the T-Mobile Jet, comes in white and will be available online on Oct. 18 and in T-Mobile retail stores on Oct. 20. Pricing and technical specifications of the Jet were not announced.

T-Mobile currently offers two prepaid plans, a $50 monthly unlimited talk and text plan and $15 monthly plan that offers unlimited text messages but charges 10 cents per minute on domestic calls. T-Mobile also offers a $1 daily prepaid pass and a 99-cent one-hour pass for Web browsing.
