Regional carrier U.S. Cellular today announced availability of the HTC 7 Pro, the carrier’s first Windows Phone 7 (WP7) device. The handset is available for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate along with a data plan purchase.
The HTC 7 Pro features a 3.6-inch tilted touchscreen, 1 GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage, slide-out qwerty keyboard, 5-megapixel camera, GPS, digital compass, built-in FM radio, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
At $199.99, the HTC 7 Pro becomes U.S. Cellular’s most expensive smartphone offering. The company has grown its device portfolio as of late to include a variety of Android devices, including the HTC Merge ($149.99) and the LG Genesis ($149.99).
U.S Cellular currently offers a variety of plans, including the Premium Plus offering, which allows users up to 5GB of data, unlimited texts and 450 anytime minutes.
Customers on U.S. Cellular’s “Belief Plans” who are eligible for a phone upgrade will be able to get the HTC 7 Pro at the promotional price without having to sign a new contract.
