Verizon really doesn’t want to lose out on the Galaxy crowd.
Just a day after the carrier announced it would be carrying Samsung’s new flagship S7 and S7 edge devices, Verizon announced it will offer a $100 bill credit to customers who buy the S7 or S7 edge.
Verizon said the promotion also applies to the purchase of a DROID Turbo, Turbo 2 or Maxx 2 and is available to those who switch to Verizon or add a new line of service.
Additionally, Verizon said those who purchase a galaxy S7 or S7 edge on a device payment plan online will be “eligible” to receive a free Samsung VR headset or Gear S2 smartwatch. In store transactions will also make customers eligible for the free VR headset, but will only result in a $100 off discount on the Gear S2 with a two-year activation.
The free headset offers all come with a six-game Oculus bundle, the carrier said.
The offer comes on the heels of promotions from T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular giving away a free Samsung VR and six-game bundle with the purchase or lease of a new Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge and buy-one-get-one half off lease deal from Sprint.
Verizon said its bill credit can be stacked on top of its “No Regrets” offer of up to $650 per line to cover termination fees from another carrier, up to $300 for the trade-in of an old smartphone, and its offer of 2GB of extra data for life for those who sign up on the carrier’s X-Large or higher data plans.
