Walmart may sell the Apple iPhone 3G starting next month, according to a report on the popular gadget blog BoyGeniusReport.com.
If true, Walmart would join Best Buy, AT&T stores and Apple stores as the only retail sources of iPhones in the United States.
The chain of department stores typically offers lower prices than its competitors, however, it’s not clear if Apple would allow that to happen with the iPhone.
Walmart already has a cell phone department including some for AT&T’s network. The company did not return calls requesting comment this morning.
Meanwhile, Apple today plans to make significant product announcements about its laptops, but no significant iPhone news is expected.
