The CTIA announced its officers and executive committee members for 2009. Robert Dotson, who is CEO of T-Mobile USA the former CTIA vice-chairman, will be chairman. He succeeds Lowell McAdam, CEO of Verizon Wireless.
“Robert has distinguished himself as a leader in the highly competitive wireless industry, and will undoubtedly be a tremendous asset to the Association and the industry as a whole in his new role as Chairman. I look forward to working with Robert in the coming year as we continue promoting public policies and initiatives that benefit all wireless consumers,” CTIA CEO Steve Largent said yesterday.
The CTIA also announced Ralph de la Vega as vice chairman. De la Vega is CEO of AT&T Mobility.
Bret Comolli, CEO of Asurion, and Michael Small, CEO of Centennial Communications, will serve as treasurer and secretary, respectively.
New committee members include Ben Wolff, CEO of Clearwire; F.J. Pollack, CEO of TracFone Wireless; and Jack Rooney, CEO of U.S. Cellular.
Separately, the CTIA said former U.S. vice-president and Nobel prize winner Al Gore will keynote the organization’s April 2009 tradeshow.
