Overland Park, Kan-based Black & Veatch is pitching in to help wireless operators deal with changing environmental and climate change regulations.
New services it introduced today are designed to assess areas such as monitoring carbon footprints, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing renewable energy usage.
Each operator employs thousands of cell sites and must follow local, state and federal zoning and regulations. These requirements determine where cell sites can be located, materials that can be used at each site and how to best get power to each site. Black & Veatch’s services help operators clean up their bottom lines.
“By implementing sustainable solutions, our clients can achieve greater operational efficiency, which directly affects their financial performance,” said Mike Romesburg, director of Telecom Sustainable Solutions, who will lead the new service initiative.
