Blogging 2014: Wireless Week’s Top 5 Blogs of the Year

By Wireless Week staff | December 29, 2014

There was a lot to talk about in 2014, as T-Mobile set the spark with a flurry of dramatic Uncarrier initiatitives. Here’s a look at some of Wireless Week’s most read blogs from the past years.

The Fog of Price War Is Real in AT&T’s New Mobile Share Plans

AT&T’s new Mobile Share plans are misleading in that they are basically a limited promotion on par with how cable companies offer you an introductory rate, which is then increased at a later date.

Devil’s In the Details on T-Mobile’s Un-Carrier 4.0

So you’ve made the decision to follow John Legere on his crusade against AT&T and business as usual. He’s promised you the world – the fastest wireless network on the planet; free international roaming; no contracts; upgrade your device when you want; and he’ll give you $650 per line to get out of your contract and onto a new device. He’ll also crash corporate parties with you, and all the while drink lots of Red Bull.

Sprint Counts on Ignorance with New Half Price Plans

Sprint’s new “Cut Your Bill in Half Event” is anything but a simple halving of your bill. The questions that budget-minded consumers will be bringing to their local Sprint outlet will be many, varied and incredibly nuanced. And in the end, those customers might not actually be seeing the savings for quite some time.

Feeding the Beast: How Long Can Sprint and T-Mobile Keep Up?

The completion of Tier 1 LTE deployments clarifies the state of competition in the U.S. wireless industry. There’s no longer any denying the spectrum crunch, nor the kind of money and scale ultimately needed to stay afloat in the market over the next five to 10 years.

Rollover Data Is A Real Deal Revolution

C Spire is now offering to rollover its customers unused data. Three different plans (2GB, 4GB and 6GB) can all accrue up to the plan maximum of untouched data instead of releasing it into the ether at the end of each billing cycle
