FirstNews Briefs: IBM, IoTivity, Fujitsu, T-Mobile

IBM today announced the z13. The z13 delivers scale and economics together with real-time encryption and analytics to help process trillions of transactions in the mobile economy. The z13 system culminates a $1 billion investment, five years of development, exploits more than 500 new patents and represents a collaboration with over 60 clients.

IoTivity, an open source software framework providing connectivity for the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced its Preview Release. The IoTivity open source project will be hosted by The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux and collaborative development, as a Collaborative Project.

Fujitsu Components America announced it has added two new, compact grounding spring connectors to its product offering to give designers more choices for the grounding requirements of printed circuit boards within the confines of mobile devices. Target applications include smartphones, tablet PCs and emerging wearable devices.

T-Mobile CEO John Legere today announced via Twitter that T-Mobile customers with Mobile Money who set up and receive a direct deposit of their tax refund onto their registered T-Mobile Visa Prepaid Card will get a $20 credit.
