If you’re following the elections, you might want to check out America’s Election HQ from Fox News Mobile.
The site is just one of the things FOX is doing to spruce up its mobile presence.
FOX News launched its off-deck news product about 18 months ago, and it has since seen steady growth, hitting a record level in February, according to Jeremy Steinberg, vice president of digital media and business development at FOX News.
“We’re really trying to go in as many directions as we can,” he says, noting the company is involved in mobile Internet, video, audio, text messaging, podcast downloads, as well as multiple areas within those categories.
While industry insiders debate the merits of dot.mobi, questioning why the mobile space should use a dedicated name that differs from online, it has been a mainstay in Fox’s mobile strategy. “I hope everyone adopts it,” Steinberg says.
Expect to see a lot more action from Fox News Mobile in the next 18 months, he says.
Fox News.com started off-deck but has distribution with Sprint and expects to add another large carrier soon.
