Citing people “familiar with the matter,” The Wall Street Journal reported that Motorola is in talks with Todd Bradley, an executive with HP, as a potential candidate to take over the company’s flagging mobile phone unit. The report said that so far Bradley is the group’s top pick, though Bradley said that he is happy where he is and not planning on making any changes.
Bradley has been with HP since 2005 and is credited with turning around the company’s PC division. Before HP, he was chief executive of palmOne.
The report also said that Motorola is also in talks with a telecom executive, but it did not name who.
Motorola said it is not commenting on the search for a new head for its mobile phone division.
