As the industry waits for news regarding the next-generation iPhone, Samsung announced its latest touchscreen handset, which bears a resemblance to Apple’s beloved handset.
The Samsung Omnia sports a 3.2-inch display and only three buttons on the face of the handset; it also supports multiple video standards, and comes with a 5-megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth and FM radio. The handset supports both WCDMA and GSM with support for faster HSDPA and EDGE networks.
Available in either 8 GB or 16 GB capacities, the Omnia is expected to go on sale in Southeast Asia next week, with a European launch scheduled for July. Samsung did not announce pricing or when the handset could be expected in other markets.
